About Me
Ethan Wagoner (b. April 15, 1992) is an active composer, educator, and performer in Kansas. Wagoner is commissioned each year to compose and arrange works for marching bands throughout the state, and has composed award-winning music for concert band and percussion ensemble that is performed across the country. Wagoner’s clientele include regular finalists and medalists in competitions across the state of Kansas, including OMI and KBA Marching Championships.
Wagoner is currently a band director in the Derby School District in Derby, KS, where he teaches middle school and high school band. In 2023, he was selected as his district’s secondary nominee for Kansas Teacher of the Year. Wagoner is also an active clinician for concert bands, marching bands, and percussion ensembles throughout the state. Wagoner also performs regularly with the Wichita Wind Symphony.
Wagoner earned his Bachelor of Music Education degree from Kansas State University, and his Master of Music Education degree from the University of Kansas. He also currently serves as the Vice President of the Kansas Chapter of Percussive Arts Society.
In his free time, Wagoner enjoys staying physically active, cooking, traveling, and spending time with his partner, Jeren.
